Vikrant Massey Finally Explains the Announced Break That Lasted All of Seven Months
Musafir Cafe's leading man addressed the question fans have needled him with ever since, how he stepped away from acting and returned with three projects almost immediately after.
Bolly BuzzsVikrant Massey has spent the better part of this year fielding some version of the same question: he announced a break from acting, and then came back with three releases almost right away. Promoting Musafir Cafe, he finally addressed it directly rather than deflecting again.
The short version, by his own account: the announcement came at a genuinely full point, award recognition, brutal working hours, and a newborn son whose early months he was mostly experiencing through a phone screen rather than in person. He chose to step back and spent close to seven months at home. What he didn't expect was missing the work itself once the initial exhaustion wore off, which is what pulled him back in.
The return has been busy by any measure, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, O Romeo, Pritam Aur Pedro, and now Musafir Cafe on Netflix. Read one way, it looks like a break that barely happened. Read the way Massey tells it, the short window did exactly what he needed it to before work pulled him back in on his own terms.
