What Tomorrow's Second Friday Decides for The Odyssey
Premium films are judged on their second weekend, not their first. Here is the number that matters and why.

The Odyssey enters its second Friday at ₹84.15 crore net. For a film whose business is concentrated in IMAX and premium large formats, the second weekend is the real verdict: the opening weekend measures anticipation, the second measures whether the film is actually working.
The benchmark to watch is a drop of under 50 percent from the first Friday's ₹17.4 crore. Anything above ₹9 crore on Friday puts a ₹150 crore lifetime comfortably in range. Below ₹7 crore and the projection starts sliding towards ₹120 crore.
Two things work in the film's favour. At 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes it carries the strongest reviews of Nolan's career, which historically extends legs rather than openings. And it faces no new English-language competition until Spider-Man lists on 31 July.
Working against it: Dhamaal 4 continues to hold general screens, and the Indian premium audience is finite. Once the metro multiplex viewer has seen it in IMAX, the repeat business that carried Oppenheimer through week three has to come from the same relatively small pool.
