The Odyssey Enters the ₹100 Crore Gross Club, the 21st Hollywood Film Ever to Do It in India

The Odyssey crossed ₹100 crore gross in India on its sixth day, finishing Wednesday at ₹84.15 crore net and ₹100.38 crore gross. It is only the 21st Hollywood release ever to reach that mark in this market, and the second Christopher Nolan film to manage it after Oppenheimer.

Wednesday itself was the film's lowest day so far at ₹6.5 crore net across 8,268 shows, down 22 percent from Tuesday. That is the ordinary shape of a premium-format release rather than a warning sign: the weekend carries the business, the weekdays hold the floor, and the second Friday resets the whole curve.

The full week now reads ₹17.4 crore, ₹22 crore, ₹21.9 crore, ₹8 crore, ₹8.35 crore and ₹6.5 crore. Trade projections have settled around a ₹150 crore net lifetime in India, with IMAX bookings already open into the last week of July and several premium screens close to sold out days in advance.

Worldwide the film has crossed ₹3,100 crore. India, as always with Nolan, is a small share of an enormous number, but a ₹100 crore gross entry here is the clearest evidence yet that his audience in this market has moved from niche to mainstream.
