Jana Nayagan has reached 185.52 crore net in India after fifteen days, on a gross of 216.32 crore and roughly 309 crore worldwide. The number that matters more than either of those is 15.16 crore, the gap left to close against Karuppu's 228.97 crore domestic gross to become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2026 outright.

That gap has been closing steadily rather than dramatically, day by day rather than in any single weekend surge, which is its own kind of statement about a film whose theatrical fate looked genuinely uncertain three weeks ago. Fifteen days in, Vijay's final release before full-time politics is no longer just a sentimental send-off; it's in an actual box office race with a real chance of winning it.

Worldwide, the gap to Karuppu is already narrower than the domestic one, which suggests the finish line is closer on the global ledger than the India one. Either way, the next week should settle which of 2026's two biggest Indian releases actually finishes on top.
