Hanuman Ansh added 23 crore net on its 37th day in theatres, its single biggest day since the opening weekend of a run that started with barely any notice at all. The devotional drama, made for 1.8 crore, has now crossed 196 crore net, a figure that would have seemed absurd to suggest back when the film closed its first week with under a crore and a half in the bank.

The jump itself follows a pattern this film has repeated for weeks: long, quiet stretches of single-digit daily numbers, interrupted without warning by sudden surges that briefly outpace films with a fraction of its running time. Day 30 saw a similar spike to 16.50 crore, and Day 31 topped that at nearly 23 crore, before settling back into its usual rhythm. Day 37 is simply the latest, and largest, of these unexplained bursts.

Trade watchers have started describing the film as being in territory without a clean precedent, a devotional title with neither major stars nor a wide release strategy sustaining collections this large more than five weeks in. Whatever is driving the renewed interest, be it word of mouth reaching new pockets of the country or a genuine communal viewing pattern around its subject, Hanuman Ansh shows no sign of being done finding new audiences.
