Sadie Sink Is the Name Missing From Most of the Spider-Man Coverage, and That's Odd

India's biggest Hollywood opening in years is built on an ensemble, and its Stranger Things breakout has barely been mentioned here.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has posted the second-biggest global opening in box office history and India's biggest Hollywood debut on record, and most of the coverage here has understandably centred on Tom Holland and the record itself. Sadie Sink, who plays a central role in the ensemble alongside Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, has barely featured in the domestic conversation.

That gap says less about her part in the film than about how Indian trade coverage tends to compress a large ensemble cast down to its most recognisable face. Sink's profile here has grown steadily since Stranger Things, but a five-day, 280-crore opening is exactly the kind of event that usually widens who gets talked about, not narrows it.

Worth watching whether that changes as the film's second week plays out and reviews move from box office numbers to the performances actually driving them.
