Priyanka Chopra's Varanasi Looks Are Out, and They Suggest Two Very Different Characters

One image free-spirited and modern, the other dark and almost gothic. Rajamouli's team is clearly not giving her one register to play.

New looks of Priyanka Chopra from S. S. Rajamouli's Varanasi have surfaced, and the two images released together read almost like two different films: one has her mid-air in cargo pants and a cropped top, loose-haired and grinning; the other is lit dark and moody, her expression closer to menace than warmth.

For a Rajamouli production, that kind of tonal range for a single character is not unusual. His films tend to build heroines who move between registers rather than staying in one, and revealing both extremes in the same drop is likely a deliberate signal about how large her role actually is.

It continues Priyanka's pattern of choosing Indian projects selectively and at the largest possible scale when she does return, in a film already carrying comparisons to Baahubali for its scope and Mahesh Babu's presence opposite her.
