Ajay Devgn Ends July on Top, With Drishyam 3 Still to Come
Dhamaal 4 is the month’s number one film at ₹132 crore. Vijay Salgaonkar returns on 2 October. It is his year on the board.
Bolly BourseDhamaal 4 finishes July as the highest-grossing film of the month in India at ₹132 crore net, past Welcome to the Jungle and comfortably ahead of everything on the Hindi board. It is also the biggest film the franchise has ever had.
What makes the run notable is the competition it survived. From its second Friday, Dhamaal 4 lost every IMAX and premium screen to The Odyssey and still grew across its second weekend, which only happens when families choose a film rather than drift into it.
And Ajay Devgn’s year is not finished. Drishyam 3 lists on 2 October for the Gandhi Jayanti weekend, in a franchise that has never opened enormous and has always finished large: Drishyam 2 closed at ₹240.5 crore net.
