Welcome to the Jungle's theatrical run is entering its final stretch, with daily collections now down to roughly a crore, the natural end-of-life pattern for a comedy that has already had its full run in cinemas.
The number worth watching is the gap to Dhamaal 4, which crossed 128.5 crore this week and is closing in on Welcome to the Jungle's own lifetime total at a pace few expected when both films were competing for the same family audience just weeks apart.
It is an unusually direct comparison for the trade: two ensemble comedies from different studios, released close together, now finishing their runs within striking distance of each other. The verdict on which franchise wins the summer comes down to which crosses the line first.
