Vishwanath & Sons Crosses 200 Crore Worldwide, One of Suriya's Fastest Films to Get There

Vishwanath & Sons has crossed 200 crore worldwide, a milestone that makes it one of the faster films of Suriya's career to reach that figure. The film opened steadily rather than spectacularly, but has held its ground through successive weekends in a way that's kept adding to its total without the sharp drop-offs that usually follow a modest opening.
The film pairs Suriya with Mamitha Baiju for the second time, in a story built around a wealthy industrialist navigating his mother's wish to see him married against an unexpected connection with a much younger woman. Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon round out a cast that trade reports have credited for carrying the film's steadier-than-expected hold, even as some reviews flagged the back half's handling of its central relationship as less confident than its first.
At 46 films into his lead career, Suriya doesn't often need a reminder of his box office range, but Vishwanath & Sons crossing 200 crore worldwide, on a story this quiet, is a genuinely unusual result for the kind of film this is.
