Spider-Man Beats Endgame's Own Opening Record, Becomes 2026's Highest-Grossing Film in a Week

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has closed its first week in India at 318.45 crore net on a gross of 380.79 crore, making it the third Hollywood film ever to enter the 300 crore club here and the fastest to do it, six days against Endgame's ten. Worldwide, the film has now passed Endgame's own North American opening record, 360 million dollars against Endgame's long-standing 357 million, a mark no film had touched in seven years.

The bigger number is global: Brand New Day crossed a billion dollars worldwide on its own, the second-fastest film in history to do it, and has now become the highest-grossing release of 2026 anywhere, seven days into release. The Russo Brothers, who directed Endgame, posted their own reaction to being overtaken, calling it simply the gauntlet being passed.

In India specifically, the film's opening weekend of 309 crore is now the largest any Hollywood release has ever posted here, ahead of Endgame and Avatar: The Way of Water both. With China, Japan and South Korea still to open for the film, and India continuing to hold steady into its second week, the ceiling on this run still isn't visible.
