Review: Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata — ★★★☆☆

Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata makes the correct choice of focus: it centres nurses, not soldiers, in a 26/11 story that has usually been told through commandos and gunfire. Kangana Ranaut steps back into a genuinely supporting role here, and Girija Oak and Smita Tambe carry real stretches of the film, which is unusual for a production built around a star of Ranaut's profile.

The direction is careful rather than urgent, and that restraint is mostly a strength, though the back half loses some tension it needed to hold. This is a film more interested in dignity than spectacle, and it mostly succeeds at that on its own terms.

Three stars for a sincere film that never asked to be more than it is, and never found the audience that might have appreciated it for exactly that. Positive word of mouth alone was never going to overcome a release with almost no pre-release visibility.
