Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War now has a confirmed home on the 2027 calendar: Republic Day weekend, January 21. The film brings Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt back together for the first time since Brahmastra: Part One, this time under Bhansali's direction, and marks his first collaboration with Vicky Kaushal.
The scale of the production is part of the story. Reports place the budget at 425 crore across a 175-day shoot, positioning it among the more expensive Hindi productions mounted in recent years. Ranbir and Kaushal are said to play Air Force officers, with the film described as a large-scale romance set against a wartime backdrop.

For Bhansali, it's a return to the kind of scale and occasion-driven release his films are built for, a genre he's revisited across three decades from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam through Bajirao Mastani. With the date now locked, the wait for a first proper look becomes the next milestone worth watching.
