Awarapan 2's Lead Over Batwara 1947 Widens Further on Day 2

If anything was going to close the gap between Awarapan 2 and Batwara 1947, the Independence Day holiday was the best chance either film had. Instead, the gap grew. Awarapan 2 added 22.42 crore on Day 2, taking its two-day total to 44.42 crore net, while Batwara 1947 managed 8.88 crore for a two-day total of 14.63 crore, roughly a third of Hashmi's pace.

The occupancy numbers are the more telling detail. Awarapan 2 posted around 53 percent occupancy on the holiday; Batwara 1947 sat at 33 percent, even after being allotted more shows than it had on opening day. A national holiday typically flattens gaps between competing releases by pulling in walk-in audiences regardless of which film they'd originally planned to see. That it didn't here suggests the difference is about draw, not just timing.
