Ramayana's trailer is out, in five languages at once

Ramayana: Part One's official trailer launched globally on 30 July, during Brahma Muhurat, in five languages simultaneously: Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra unveiled it in person at San Diego Comic-Con, discussing the making of the two-part epic on stage.

The nearly four-minute cut opens with Yash's Ravana asserting his rule over the three realms, before introducing Ranbir Kapoor's Rama, Sai Pallavi's Sita and the golden world of Ayodhya that Ravana's war will eventually shatter. DNEG's visual effects work, sweeping battlefields and Hollywood-scale CGI, is the trailer's most-discussed element.

The Sony Pictures partnership Malhotra announced earlier turned out to be exactly what it looked like: a genuine global distribution upgrade, not a delay. The film releases in IMAX worldwide on Diwali, 6 November 2026, with a score shared between Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, their first collaboration.

Part Two is scheduled for Diwali 2027. Malhotra has placed the combined budget across both films at roughly 500 million dollars, making it the most expensive Indian film project on record.
