Rashmika Mandanna, Six Months Married, Is Also Six Months Into a Recovery Nobody's Talking About
The wedding to Vijay Deverakonda got the palace, the headlines, and the reception. The hip injury that followed has gotten a lot less attention.
Bolly BuzzsRashmika Mandanna's wedding to Vijay Deverakonda, a private ceremony at a heritage palace in Udaipur back in February, was exactly the kind of event Bollywood spends months building up to and days talking about afterward. Six months on, the marriage itself has settled into the background of her life in the way marriages usually do. What hasn't settled is the injury.
During filming, Mandanna suffered a hip tendon injury serious enough to disrupt production entirely, and it's the quiet explanation behind why Mysaa, a film that was supposed to have released back in July, still shows no real box office data anywhere. No dramatic statement, no injury reveal interview, just a film that never actually opened while everyone assumed it already had.
There's something almost old-fashioned about how little noise this has generated. A major star's production-halting injury would, in an earlier social media era, have been milked for sympathy and updates for weeks. Instead it's mostly been silence, a wedding taking up all the oxygen a recovery might otherwise have gotten.
Mysaa still has no confirmed new release date. Whenever it lands, it will be arriving into a very different conversation than the one it was originally built for.
